I am just starting up the installation process and it went smoothly until I entered the password encryption key on the "get_me_in.asp" page. I got the following message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x1734 Thread 0x1224 DBC 0x1959eac Jet'.

/aspprotect/scripts/populate_config_variables_inc.asp, line 11

Now what?

Amy

oldest error in the book

basically means there are problems with your data connection string and/or folders permissions where the database file is located.

it all has to be absolutely perfect or you get useless cryptic errors..

been discussed a 100 times on here.. here is one thread

Oh dear, I apologize. I had gone through setting the permissions when I was using an older evaluation version. I didn't think I'd have to do it again but I deleted the folder & re-created it so I un-did the modify permission. Once I got my host to re-set the permissions all was well.

Thanks!

Amy
