I have a site where I have begun to use stream_downlaod.asp to protect the url of files referenced on an ASPProtected page. I have noticed something that I haven't been able to figure out, however.
Using Firefox or Mozilla on a PC or Mac, there is no problem. When you click the link, you get a dialog that offers you the chance to either open the file or save it.. and whatever one chooses works without a problem ( and for any file type).
However, using IE 6 on a PC, if you click on a link to a Word doc or some other text file, "Open" and "Save" both work. However, if you click on a link to a pdf file and choose "open", Acrobat reader is launched but then gives the error" "There was an error opening the document. The file cannot be found."
If you choose "Save," you can save the pdf without any problem.
Has anyone heard of this behavior before?
Thanks.

My apologies to Chris and others. After doing a more thorough search of old forum postings, I found the solution:
Response.CacheControl = "Public"
Added to the stream page.
Thanks, and sorry for the bother.
