When i am in a photo album
I can select a picture for full size.
once i am on the pop-up i can access the next and previous pictures and scroll through for the next few seconds. After that is displays a "this page cannot be displayed".

I then close out of the pop-up and go back to the album.
When i select another picture it displays the "this page cannot be displayed"

in order to get the pop up working again i have to select Home

Once i select Home it automatically logs me out and brings the default page back, but as a guest.

I am on 1and1 servers. if this helps

I can not make the error happen no matter how many times I click next or previous... I tried it using IE7 and FIrfox from an XP Machine.. I need more info..

Are you by chance on a mac or something or using some sort of odd web browser.. ?

i am going through the pictures right now... and it seems to be working good

almost like taking a car to the repair shop only for it to work great....

i will still keep trying to see how the error is caused.

i am using 3 differnt Windows based machines to access the website, and they seem to be doing fine now.

i can set up an admin password for you if you would like.

I did see the error twice since last posting but I have been clicking like a crazy man..

It is indeed the application on the server resetting.. then the app is trying to go into skin change mode which does not work when someone is in one of those pop up windows..

The application restart deal is not good.. it does probably mean someone else in your application pool or some other code is making the application pool die and restart... quite often..  it means you have to tell 1and1 that you suspect that and ask them if they will put you in a different application pool... to see if that helps.... The application should not restart every few minutes.. it should go many many hours even days without restarting under normal circumstances...

As for the no delete thing it's because you are using the ASPX resizing trick and ASP.NET is locking the files so to speak... I have a simple code change I will look for that you can do that will sure that little issue... I have to find it

I will try changing application pools.

I will keep you posted as to the results.

I appreciate your time.

here is that code change..

open "scripts/show_thumbnail.aspx"with a text editor..

find this bit of code at the bottom.. add the part in blue..

    Else
      fullSizeImg.Save(Response.OutputStream, ImageFormat.Jpeg)
    End If

GC.Collect()

  End Sub
</script>

eventually once things get out of memory from being generated before you should be able to delete without issue...

Thank you for all your help....I have since placed the album on a different server....being hosted by Purehost.com

and i have not seen any problems as of yet.

This is a great photo gallery.
The new installation only took about 7 mins. (not including the pictures)
