I'm am trying to get ASPProtect 7 installed and I can't seem to get past this error. Any help would be appreciated.

I would also suggest you download asptest from www.cjwsoft.com and try to get that working before you continue on.. it should help you learn how to set up a data connection... everything must be PERFECT or you get cryptic errors...

Thank you for your response in the last thread.

I now have it up and running on the server. However I am unable to create a user account to get started. Sometimes I get this error below the navigation:

Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/aspprotect/password_admin/default.asp, line 118

On occasion the page will load. but when I submit the info I always get this error:

Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/aspprotect/password_admin/save.asp, line 56

Any help would be appreciated.

please dont start new threads unless it is a totally seperate issue.. I moved the post here..

If you now get errors when trying to do something that modifies the database... that means your permissions are messed up... you have permission to read the database but not to do anything else.. so you get an error

permissions are explained in detail here... please read all of it..
