Greetings,

I've just installed the pro version after purchasing a single license, and have managed to set up a DSN connection.
Overall, it seems the site is working, however, there is a problem:  The session seems to be timing out (if I am analysing this correctly) constantly.
Here is the phenomena:
1. I log in as user tester (password 131313)
2. I go to several places...no where specific (that i've noticed anyhow...)
3. at some stage I am suddenly logged off, and "sign in" appears in the menu, although I have not logged off and the session time (which is overrided to 90 minutes I believe) is far from over.

here is the site, feel free to test it out:   http://www.shteker.com/gallery/

Any thought as to what could be causing this, or at least where to search for it?

Thanks in advance,

pelegr

How long.. I have been in there clicking on things for minutes nonstop with no problems whatsoever... it has not made me login again. All seems quite normal.. I'll let it sit a while and try clicking some more. You do realize that cookies must be enabled in your web browser as that is how session variables work.

Also, the rules of these support forums require that you use real information in the name field. Please update your profile with valid information.

Ok, I got it to do it..

Since I have never seen or heard about this happening my 1st guess is going to be issues because of the regional settings of the server. Am I correct is assuming that the server is running a regional setting other than USA or UK?

Of course that still probably would not explain why it works for a while and then loses the sessions... as for that I don't know.

What else is going on.. as far as the server ? Other sites on it?
Application settings? Applications Pools? OS Version ?

If another site is on the same application pool and has issues and can cause the application pool to reset and therefore start any sessions over..  That is about the only thing that makes sense?  Any chance some other site is doing that ?

Have you tried giving the gallery folder it's own isolated application in IIS ?

First, I've updated my profile as required.

As for the problem:

1.  The server is based in Israel (host: joinweb - microsoft certified host)
2.  the OS is Windows 2003 Server
3.  there is one other application I built that uses sessions on this site....perhaps that is causing problems, I will try to isolate it as you suggested and will post back.

Thanks for the help so far,

Peleg

I am having the same problem....

When i am in a photo album
I can select a picture for full size.
once i am on the pop-up i can access the next and previous pictures and scroll through for the next few seconds. After that is displays a "this page cannot be displayed".

I then close out of the pop-up and go back to the album.
When i select another picture it displays the "this page cannot be displayed"

in order to get the pop up working again i have to select Home

Once i select Home it automatically logs me out and brings the default page back, but as a guest.

I am on 1and1 servers. if this helps

Your error really sounds different than the guy that started this thread. He was not getting an error page.. please start a new thread.. You should also PM your site details so I can go look for myself and see whatever is happening...

thanks

Problem Solved!

As you suggested , I tried to do a clean install, this time on an empty site, where it would be the sole application running.  This solved the issue and all is working fine now.

So I suppose it was a session issue, related to other applications possibly sharing the same connection.

Thanks for the support,

Peleg

btw.: sorry for the late response, have been away for a while.
