ok i must be blind i thought i read this setup page to the letter but im missing one part

this is what i went off of

and it mentions inputting the encryption key in a flield that will let me in to setup an admin account but what im mising is that i dont know is what page is suppose to have this field im suppose to input this info to..

can someone enlighten me on what page this is..

side note i downloaded the documents help file

and when i open it i get a blank page on the right pane.. im using win2K not sure what im missing here to but im sure ots somthing im doing

i did sent a note to support for this site and i never got a reply.. not sure about the support with this app but so far i seem to only have this forum as an outlet and not to happy that my emails went un answered..

I will say this tonight... as far as the help file goes if you see blank page.

It probably applies to win2k too.. either that or win2k has issues with .CHM files. I really don't know as it's an old OS. I havent used it in 5 years or so.

I just downloaded the CHM file and tried it out.. it worked fine after I followed those security directions. Of course I am running XP on this laptop. Regardless the documentation in the forum is more up to date anyway... so I wouldn't worry about it too much..

Ok I guess I need more information on this.. I am having trouble seeing where you got off track...

then read this part below.. I just dont see how it is not clear...

Now.. run this page

Replacing the part in blue with your website info.

This is a special page we use to get into the system for the 1st time.

Once you get the page running you will see a login prompt and one form field

You will need to paste the "PasswordEncryptionKey" value that you used in the "config_inc.asp" file in the form field and hit enter.

If all goes well you will see the admin area of ASPProtect.

Now that you are in the system you need to create an admin account.

Click on "ADD NEW USER".. fill out the info and add a user.
You really only need to fill out (first name,last name,email,username,and password)

Now save that user.

You should see a new user listed in the admin area. Click on Edit user to the left of the new account. On the edit screen check the "admin" checkbox and save the user.

You just created an Admin account.

Now click on the "log off" button on the top menu and click yes to log off.

Now close the browser. Then run this URL

http://www.mysite.com/password_admin/default.asp

Replacing the part in blue with your website info.

You should now be able to in to the admin area of the system using the new admin account you created.
