is there a setting that i am missing to prevent people from loggin in with a same username twice durring one session.

the example having multiple browsers open and accessing the asp secured content with the same username on each of the browsers at the same time.

Well, that's kind of a weird question you're asking. If its truly the same session then another window couldn't possibly make them log in again the same session because they would already be logged in.

If it did make them login it's technically another session and that behavior is all based on preference settings in the web browser. By default different windows share sessions but it can be changed.

Now there is a Concurrent Login Check in the settings.. it prevents concurrent logins by a username but only if the ips are different...if its the same IP they are going to able to do it...

i guess i did kinda word it wierd. Lets see if i can make more sense. I am creating an online training course. I would like to know if theres a way to not let them have multiple browsers windows open when the get to the test portion so they can't  refer the course which is asp protected. My thinking was once they log in with a browser open they would n't be able to log in again with a different browser window open. Some kinda of multiple log in error would occur

nope.. not gonna happen...  it's basic http, browser, session, and forms based authentication behavior your talking about and it works the way it works.. basically your thinking is not how things work..

Your probably better off using javascript to stick them in browser pop up windows with zero browser navigation controls or abilities to open in a new window or go back... and try to limit their behavior that way..  maybe set your own session variables when they hit a page to say its been hit.. and if they try to run the page again you put the squash on them..

Sites with tests like your talking about have all come up with elaborate in house techniques to handle things.. because it is not a simple thing...

That's all I am saying as I do not support things like this..  this thread is closed.
