I am still investigating this product and wanted to confirm the you can have a new user register for multiple groups. The form would just have to be modified to list the groups accordingly.( http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/code_info.asp?TID=511&KW =register+groups)

Can a new user register for access to groups that they can get permissions automatically and groups that need to be reviewed by an admin prior to gaining access at the same time?

Also, if I have an existing user who logs in would they have to re-register for access to a group he does not currently have access to - can he do that? Or would that have to be an admin's job?

Thanks

It is all doable should you be able to edit and modify asp code. None of it is super difficult as long as your good with ASP. The code I write is purposely kept simple in order to help people when editing it.

As for new users getting permissons but the admin must review their group requests before giving them those.. You'd have to make something to handle that. Again very doable. The app lets a person register and not be active until the admin approves them but it doesn't take it to what you just described.

As for existing users needing access to new groups.. you would have to set up a form or something for them to request that.. or something...

Then either give it to them after reviewing the info or just give it when they ask. However you would want to handle it really. The sky is the limit but it's nothing the app handles by default.

You get all the source code so you can do anything you like really. Really the intention of this app is a starting point for a project. The app gives you a solid framework and takes care of all the really complex stuff like how logging in work and all the crazy stuff like concurrent login checking  that would take 100's of hours to write on your own. Some people leave it at that. Some people custimize the heck out of it into something that fits their needs like a glove.
