I modified the default page to what my customer wanted it to look like. For testing, we used an index2.htm page and got the site to work. I then changed the index2 file to a "default.asp" and uploaded the site to my server.

Now when you browse to the site, it asks for a login and password without giving you to ability to add a new log in. Then when you do login, you are taken to the admin's user page without access to the database. (you cannot modify any users or add any new users.)

When you do log in, the category buttons no longer go to the categories but back to the admin's user list. However, the guestbook works as does the word list.

Well, I dont know what you want me to say.

I mean, you broke things. you need to be more careful editing things.

There is no way I could possibly guess what sort of things you did/edited that caused all the problems. I really have no clue how you managed to get the default page of the classifieds system asking for login info.

My suggestion is to revert back to a working copy.. make sure it works like it is supposed to.. then make changes slowly.. testing every step of the way.If you break something go back and be more careful until you get what your looking for accomplished.

Also be aware just cause something works locally it may not behave the same on the server as paths and what not can be different. etc etc

Understanding html code is a definete must as far as editing things to look how you want. That app just was not designed to be quickly edited in your WYSIWYG editor of choice. You have to be a little careful and understand html well.
