Question: I have an advertiser who wants to post a Flash ad on my site. But I can't figure out how to add the URL he wants the ad to point to into the code that gets uploaded when I create the new ad in ASPBanner. Can someone help me?

Thanks!

Where a flash file links is determind by the flash ad. If you want it to link somewhere different the source code of the flash ad must be edited and resaved in flash. Meaning your customer needs to do it or provide you with the flash source code.. (one or the other)

The trend as of late is to code all flash banners to accept a variable that sets the url they click to. If people create their flash ads that way it is a no brainer. Cource, not everyone keeps up with the trends and people are still doing it the old way...

You also should see this which explains everything in detail.

That's what I thought. Thanks! The app's interface says "For a Code banner to track a click you will need to have your code link to the redirection
page feeding it the correct Banner ID. Then that page will redirect to the intended URL specified above. Ex.) http://www.innovationtools.com/aspbanner/aspbanner/banner_re direct.asp?Banner_ID=24. Is that supposed to be in an <embed src> statement or what? I can't get the click-thru counter to work now. Not sure what's gone wrong, because it was working before.

Thanks!

nope, the embed file is never any different

that url needs to be saved into the flash file when editing the file in macromedia flash..

I really think the threads I wrote about it explain all of that very clearly.. please re-read them slowly and carefully
