Hi, i have recently had this setup on the client site.  However, for me to fully utililize this (without risking mucking up the client site) i would like to develop against it locally.

I have copied all the pages (bin dir and tables) down locally and it compiles.  However, when i try and run it i get:

ASPProtect.NET Licensing Issue: Domain Check Failed
Not licensed to run under http://localhost:1117
Contact CJWSoft to acquire a valid license key

Is this something that you allow?

well, the port is probably screwing it up...

I assume your running your local web server on port 1117 for some reason ?

You cant do that if that is the case... you have to run it on its default port and run the site via

http://localhost

yes, that is the way Visual Studio 2005 works the debugging, etc. It uses kinda a lite runtime web server (and just picks a port).

I will see if i can someway run it from port 80.

Ill keep you posted.

Ya, but you can still run real IIS and associate with a visual studio project.. I do it all the time... you just got to take the time to figure it out.. and dig into some of the project properties

Basically ya make your site in IIS as usuall.. then when you create a project you can tell it to use that instead of it's built in deal

Also...

I suppose you could try editing your "hosts" file so

http://localhost really went to http://localhost:1117

though I am not sure if that would work..

but it is worth trying.. it might work
