We are preparing to launch a live webcast tomorrow. I as attempting to editing the text for the html to reflect this year's information. When I click on the link that should launch the player I receive this error.

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0400'

Expected statement

C:\HSHOME\CHAMBERS\LOCALMOTIONPRODUCTIONS.COM\WEBCAST\ARCHIV ES\../../aspprotect/check_user_inc.asp , line 367

 <br><br><br><br><br><br> <br>
^

I also noticed that when i login into the amdin section the entire database of last year's users are gone. I need help fast.

The link for the website is http://www.localmotionproductions.com/webcast%20broadmoor%20 master.htm

The player window will open. Click the link to the left "Live Webcast" The error will appear.

That script error tells me that original aspprotect files have been edited in such a way that you now have an error. That is something you have to sort out as it was most likely caused by something you or someone else edited. Sometimes even the web editor you use can go break things if your not careful. I suggest putting original files back in starting with the "check_user_inc.asp" file.. back up what you got now before doing anything of course.

Put stuff back till you get basic protected page examples working then go from there.

As for the users being gone maybe someone got into your site and deleted them all somehow ? Either via direct access to your site or server or less like by some sort of hack via the web browser?? To my knowledge the ASPProtect system has never been hacked via the web browser but people have been hacked when people got into their server or site or database directly.

Regardless, hope you been doing backups or your in trouble.

I'd open your database and look to see if users are there. If code was edited incorrectly that could also be why no users show. If thats the case your better off.

I have posted a copy of the original file back to the aspportect folder and error seems to have corrected itself.

Where is the database of user located?

Only you know that... depends on if your are using SQL Server or MSACCESS

If its SQL Server you got a SQL Server somewhere. If it is MSACCESS it's wherever you put it as it can be anywhere you want on your server and named anything you like.

The thing to do is look at your database connection string in the "dataconn_inc.asp" file

ConnectionString = "DBQ=C:\hshome\chambers\localmotionproductions.com\aspprotec t\_database\aspprotect.mdb;Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};UID=Admin;Password=temp"
DatabaseType = "MSACCESS"

Then there should be a_database folder which there is not.  I have this software installed on the same server but on two different websites.  Neither one has a _database folder but the other website user information is intact and has not been changed for at least two years.  Any suggestions?
