Because of Microsoft's ActiveX issues, Flash banners are now showing a border on rollover, and require to be clicked to activate.

Will a fix be provided for this?

Thanks

Rob

I dont see how ASPBanner can do anything about that. What your talking about sounds like some sort of browser/flash/security settings issue. (and also not something I have even heard of though I am gonna look right now) If there is a workaround it would be in the code you use to display the flash banner or the settings in the persons web browser.. and not be related to how aspbanner serves banners.

Have a look at:

To get the problem, update XP at MS, restart, then goto www.iha.org.au

ok, this must be what your talking about.
http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/article/flash-limitation s-in-ie6-kb912945

it basically says everyone needs to start using different code to display their flash banners... and gives a link of a place that has special javascript code you can use to load the flash files and still have them work the way you want them to... which is here
http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/

what an annoying thing this is going to be for anyone who uses flash and has a lot of it in their sites. Not only that but now any user that is going to see the flash is also going to have to have javascript enabled..

How, Am I supposed to write a browser hack and get everyone using IE to download it. :) You dont seem to understand that this doesn't have much to do with ASPBanner and how it serves banners.

Since displaying a flash banner in ASPBanner is essentially a CODE type banner in which YOU provide the code. Then when that banner is up that EXACT code is put in the web page. It's no different than if you just hard coded the code your using into the web page. It will do the same thing. There is absolutely nothing I can do about it. You have to use different code like those articles suggest.

It's a web browser/flash/activex issue on the client side. The fix as you say is to use the new code and use the .JS file that guy designed to load the flash externally and therefore work around the issue.
