It a generic error that means something is wrong with your data connection.

tons of info on the error here.. its low level database connectivtiy stuff usually related to incorrect permissions on the database folder and/or an invalid connection string

Hi

Thanks for the response...done that and now the following error occurs. At this stage I am now completely lost. Any help would be much appreciated. The help files have me even more confused. This is my 3rd day of trying to get things like this to work. I have always assumed it was the software that just did not work

Regards

Russell

well, to be real honest its impossible to help without lots and lots of details. Your just telling enough to offer any more ideas. I need to know exactly what you are trying, what pages your getting errors on, what kind of database your connecting to, what your using for a connection string, how permissions got set.. server version... maybe show me the site    etc etc etc etc etc

In this last post your showing me 404 page error info but your not telling what the URL windows of the browser is at.. so I have no idea what it is all about

If you ask specific questions and show details I can help but if you don't tell me much I can not

Addionally if you need help setting up and learning about data connections download asptest from www.CJWSOft.com it is designed to help you leanr about data connections

I'll keep trying to help

lastly, we do installs if all else fails
