hello

I have just purchased Unlimited Version 8.0 ( have used the pervious version and all was well)

This version is implement with a new hosting provider and I have modified the "aspbanner_unlimited_config.asp" file ( see below )

when i try and use the aspbanner app it says "ACCESS DENIED"

<%
User_Custom1_Name=Custom1_dom
User_Custom1_Used=True
User_Custom2_Name=Custom2
User_Custom2_Used=False
User_Custom3_Name=Custom3
User_Custom3_Used=False
User_Custom4_Name=Custom4
User_Custom4_Used=False
User_Custom5_Name=Custom5
User_Custom5_Used=False
User_Custom6_Name=Custom6
User_Custom6_Used=False
Log_Off_Page=http://localhost/aspbanner/goodbye.asp
BannerRedirectURL=http://bythebeach.com.au/aspbanner
Email_Component=CDOSYS
EmailNotification=test@test.com
Mail_RemoteHost=
UseSMTPAuth=False
SMTPUsername=
SMTPPassword=
BannerConnectionString=DBQ=\\bne3nas2-content1\content1\vs44 7045\bythebeach\wwwroot\data\database\aspbanner_access2002.m db;Driver={Microsoft Access Driver(*.mdb)}
BannerDatabaseType=MSACCESS
App_Name=ASPBanner Unlimited Version 8.3
QueryBitValue=1
DelayedStatsWriting=False
EnableStoredProcedures=False
%>

i am also using a msaccess database for another application on the same website and the connect string works ok with that application

can you please tell me where i have gone wrong

take care

I can tell you that accessing an access database over a network path like that is not good.. it slows performance of the access database by about 50% and casues complications with  permissions..

Basically your new hosting provider in my opinion has their server poorly setup..  and has things working on a network path..  and that is BAD..

Regarding ASPBanner I would suggest using MSSQL server there or performance will not be good..

If you have no choice but to use access move the aspbanner database to same folder your other wokring access databases are in.. adjust the path in the confiig and see if you have better luck..

also.. it's really not a good idea to post your conneciton string info in public like this.. in the future please post your question and Private message any paths, passwords, or database info

mssql does not use database files.. it's more of living breathing system that runs on a server SORT OF..

the database creation scripts are provided in the aspbanner download.. extras folder I believe..
