I have had an existing installation working fine for years now, but now we
are moving to a Windows 2008 box with IIS7 and I can not get this to
work.

I am getting the usual permissions error...

Connection string not saved in
(data/config/aspbanner_unlimited_config.asp) file.
Most likey the data folder does not have proper permissions set on it.
That folder and all of the folders within it need (R,W,X,D) Permissions set
for the anonymous webserver account.
These permissions can generally only be set by your hosting company.

We own the box ourselves and have given full control to IUSR_CEGWEB,
USERS, and ASPNET.

I have been trying all day and can't figure out whats wrong.

Are there any issues specific to 2008 that I should be concerned with or
am missing.

try giving the aspbanner_unlimited_config.asp file itself full permissions for the

everyone account

If that does not work try doing the alternate installation where you edit the config file by hand...

check out "data/show_path_info.asp" which if run from the browser has info on manual/alternate setup scenarios.. as far as what directories you put things in and also editing the config file manually.
