Hi,

I have most of the system configured and working.  However, when I log in, place a new ad, pay for it in PayPal, I get an error message when returning to merchant:

Your Ad has not been paid for.
This is an invalid approval request.

If you believe something went wrong with your PayPal Ad purchase
please contact the site Administrator of this system.

The link from the PayPal Return to Merchant is http://www.mykendallcounty.com/classifieds/paypal.asp?ppi=4p 0416

The payment went through correctly and I have tried this more than once.

Thanks,

Keith

Sorry, as this post says it is an unsupported feature..
http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/code_info.asp?TID=239&KW =paypal

This text below is straight from the documenation. "Using the system" section

PayPal

Please Note:
This feature is not guaranteed to work and it is not supported.
We will not answer questions about this feature.
We do not even mention this feature on our web site or in the live demo.

Experimental PayPal Web Accept support exists in ASPClassifieds.

To use this you must have a premier or business account with
PayPal.

After entering Ad info the user is redirected to the
PayPal site where they use their PayPal account to pay for the order and
they are then transferred back to the confirmation screen on your site where
the payment is recorded.

This is the only type of interface supported by
PayPal. They do not have any
sort of under the scenes API available since the users payment account is not
really a credit card account but it is a
PayPal account which is in turn
tied to the customer's payment method as configured with
PayPal.

This is not a perfect solution and you will need to watch it carefully to make sure the majority of users are paying for their Ads. There are ways to trick it, but if you pay attention to new Ads and whether or not people are paying for them or not you should be able to police it fairly easily.

I added this feature because it gives someone without a merchant account a way to accept money for Ads and it really cost anything to set up a
PayPal account.

If someone where to take the time to do this right it really needs to be coded to use PayPal IPN and a credit system. Where ads and various extra features cost so many credits and people have to buy credits before they can post any ads.
