Using

VendorConnectionString = "DBQ=C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Superior-Games\_database\aspvendor_a ccess2002.mdb;Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};UID=Admin;Password=temp"
VendorDatabaseType = "MSACCESS"

We continue to get the generic error information. Admin set up the read/write permissions on the database, password to the database seems correct. Are we missing something. Could it be a missing Microsoft Access DRIVER? Brand new windows server using IIS and we're running other access databases on it with no issues.

We are not getting an error but getting really nothing but lines and error codes that indicate a time out.

Please go over my article extremely carefully..
http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/moreinfo136-1.htm

My guess is it is permissions or an invalid path. You wouldn't believe how many people think they have set perissions correctly and actually have not. You never give permissions to just the .mdb file either and a lot of people do that.  Have the server admin set permissions EXACTLY the way my article explains and let me know. A data base connection error is the most low level thing you can encounter. Database connection must be absolutley perfect or you get cryptic errors. It's a tail I have told many times.

Well, the admin folks changed the permissions and set up the aspnet as outlined in your article http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/moreinfo136-1.htm

Now just an "Unspecified" error with the generic error. Our path according to the C:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Superior-Games\_database\aspvendor_access 2002.mdb

Perhaps a error on the above? Or other?

you dont need ASPNET.. that is only if you are working with ASP.NET

Without being the guy that set permissions and checking that path out and knowing it was all done right I don't have an answer..  it could always be the MDAC drivers on the server. Sometimes you literally have to try many many things until you get a connection working. It is something you just get good at after a while but many have trouble at 1st.

I suggest download ASPTest from www.cjwsoft.com and see if you can get that working before you go any farther. I designed it to help people properly setup a data connection. If you cant get that running you wont be able to get aspvender running either. So re-start there.

Yes... those instruction worked out great once the admin hooked up the permission in the right way. Originally, permissions were only set on the database file itself not the directory.  Looks to be working pretty well now.. thanks. Good luck with that tooth recovery. :) Looking forward to getting the password protection piece soon.
