Hey Chris and Everyone,
Whatever you did to fix the sign up for the forum seems to have worked, thus this posts presence. There is no new information or questions here. Here is the text for just our discussion so far:
My initial correspondence:
Dear CJW soft,
I recently purchased ASP Photo Gallery Pro from you. I have tried to install it but have encountered a problem. I have tried to logon to your forum but am told I need to verify my email, but it does not send or resend me an email to do so and tells me to contact an administrator. I get the message:
There is a problem activating your membership. Please contact the CJWSoft Support Info
My problem is that I get this error:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
I have looked it up and although unable to find a reference to it searching your forum database I found an article from Microsoft saying it was probably a server path issue.
'*** Below are the only two settings you need to edit in this file
GalleryConnectionString = "D:\Hosting\humjug1\fpdb\aspgallery_access2002.mdb;Driver={M icrosoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};UID=Admin;Password=temp"
GalleryDatabaseType = "MSACCESS"
The gallery is stored on my server at:
D:\Hosting\humjug1\gallery
or
http://humboldtjugglingsociety.org/ gallery
My absolute hosting path with godaddy is:
D:\Hosting\humjug1
What can I do to resolve these issues?
Peace,
Toby
Your Response:
Hi Toby,
Yahoo has apparently been blocking all cjwsoft.com email. That is why you never got the forum email. Weve been trying to correct the problem but yahoo is of no help. They have got my server IP on a blacklist.. unfairly really but I am not going to get into hat.
If you sign up with a hotmail, gmail account or something of that nature you will get signed up no problem. Or if you tell me your account username I can go in and manually update it..
In the meantime please look this over.. the permissions part specifically.. GoDaddy ha a pretty evil interface, its never fun to set asp applications on GODaddy servers. http://support.cjwsoft.com/code/code_info.asp?TID=1079&g et=last#3980
The info you showed me looks valid.. Im thinking maybe its the permissions ?
Regards,
Chris

My Second correspondence:
Dear Chris,
I set the permissions and then went through the path and permissions with a Godaddy tech. One thought is that maybe it won't work because when I published the folder entitled "gallery" to the website with Front Page it moved the database to my "fpdb" folder and asked me to name it which I named aspgallery_access2002. Another thought occurred when I went to open the access file I noticed it needed me to enter a password. I entered "temp" and it opened. Is the password protection preventing a connection? Any ideas as to how to get this working would be awesome!
Thank You,
Toby
Your Second Response:
Dont let frontpage rename the file or move it to that folder.. put it the location we default it to and set the permissions for that folder from within godaddys interface..
Whats your forum username.. I want to do this in the forums, not via email..
Thanks..
CJW
I will now attempt to re-upload the forum with the database remaining in its original position and then report back the results.
Peace,
Toby
