Hi all
I have some trouble having the ASPbanner running smoothly. Database set up (MSSQL2005 on Win2003) and files copied and modified (permission set) on the webserver (Win2003). Changed password on aspbanneruser from temp to a new one, in both the database and in the config file.
I can log in, add users, upload files, create zones, etc, but when I click Banners I get this message:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Incorrect syntax near '='.
/aspbanner/banners.asp, line 306
And when I click Manage banners one an individual user, I get this error:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Incorrect syntax near '='.
/aspbanner/manage_banners.asp, line 255
I have obviously done something wrong somewhere, but I cant figure it out. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Morten

Im just going to add some information to my own post.
I still havent found a solution to these SQL errors. My installed version of ASPbanner is the latest paid version of the single website version.
The webserver (Win2003 std, 32 bit) runs on the same network as the SQL server (MSSQL 2005/Win2003 std, 32 bit).
Ive tried to switch from the aspbanneruser to the sa user, but with same outcome. When nearly giving up, I removed both the database and all files/folders and started over again from scratch. Double checking the instructions, I made sure the installation and configuration was done correctly. After launching it again I got the same errors
Clicking on Managing banners on a user, gives me this:
Banners For xxxx xxxx, Inc
(1 Banner Found)
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near '='.
/aspbanner/manage_banners.asp, line 255
If I click on the Banners button, I get this:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near '='.
/aspbanner/banners.asp, line 306
I havent change an code in the banners.asp file
Before I added the first user and assigned a banner to the advertiser, no errors was displayed on these two pages.
I hope someone can give me some suggestions on how to solve this.
Thanks
Morten

Would it have anything to do with the servers regional settings? -Decimal symbol, time format, etc? The servers have English language, but regional settings are set to Norwegian. Ive tried to change it to English (United States) on both the webserver and the SQL server, but didnt see any changes right away (caching, or something at the SQL server preventing this to kick in?).
I cant leave it on English for a longer time, because other applications and web sites get all messed up with these settings.

Whoa!
I found it! It had something to do with how it stored/displayed dates. I used some code found here on the forum and updated config_inc.asp
Now everything works like a charm
