GoDaddy has a confusing interface from what i remeber but without being here and seeing it I doubt I can walk you through it.

Plenty of customers use GoDaddy..

I'm on my way right now I am on my way with my wife to a New Years Dinner/Party. I can help you later tommoro when we return home.

ok, so from what I have been reading godaddy may have changed their interface since I last used it.. ??

I found some references to possibly needing to uninstall frontpage extensions on your site in order to modify the permissions..

"I went into my account on GoDaddy and uninstalled the FrontPage extensions. Waited 15 mins. Then went into File Manager on GoDaddy and set permissions."

and
http://nedp.net/support/articles/Video/GoDaddy-Permissions/G oDaddy-Permissions.asp

Are you using Frontpage extenisons.. ?

This really has nothing to do with running my apps and everything to do with godaddy's setup. Their really not that great for people running asp or asp.net. O focurse as I stated in my earlier post it can work, just a little hard because of their interfaces. It's low priced hosting for the masses as oppossed to professional hosting specifically geared for technologies like asp and asp.net. www.alentus.com and www.1and1.com are examples are hosting companies with great interfaces for managing permissions and what not.

Anwyay. If you want me to I have no problem going in to your godaddy account and trying to figure out the permissions thing for you. It's your fastest option. I usually figure things like this out pretty quickly.

Otherwise you're going to have to explain theri interface to me, make screenshots, etc.. until we can figure it out..

If you do want me to go in privately message (PM) me the login details, don't post them here in this thread..

ok.. so I went in and got it working.. see the PM I sent you..

Bascially all I had to do was go to manage domain and dig around until I found the file manager.. at that point it was easy to add write permissions all the folders in /data

getting to file manager was the tricky part.. it's such an evil/confusing interface I really couldn't tell ya exactly how to get to it.. lots of clicking around. whever made the interface should be shot..

the thing about needing to uninstall Frontpage Extensions did not come into effect.. possibly because they don't allow them when running IIS7 ?? I don't know.. thats what it said when I went to that section.. regardless it's not a factor for u..

Below is a screenshot of the godaddy file mamager where you set the permissions needed..
